Title: How Far We've Come

Poem

Instructions

The sky has become for us a bed.
For we lay asleep and pray to the stars.
Dreaming is a way to forget the pain.
Is but a relief from the heaviness in my head.
Tomorrow we wake to escape from today.
Remember where we once were at the start.
And how much we've changed.

And the sky will not let me be.

The sky has become for us a bed.

The sky — the rippling blue.

The sky is low, the clouds are mean.

The sky and all its sentient stars are hid.

None of the above

Dreaming is a way to forget the pain.

Dreaming is a form of waking up.

Dreaming is a slumbering nymph.

Dreaming is a way of letting go.

Dreaming is a good thing.

None of the above

And he will chop off my head.

To find some relief from this gloomy bed.

Is but a relief from the heaviness in my head.

And i saw a relief of savages ahead.

In a relief of lilies on her head.

None of the above

When we were so young and so innocent,

And how much we've changed.

Where we once fought to stay afloat.

Where our dreams were shattered

Then maybe we could find a way back.
