Poem

Instructions

Air rises bitter from the night.
I feel the cold within in my chest.
The sun will not concede her light.
Forever in darkness, my eyes oppressed.

Air of the noon-day heat.

Air of the dawn, air of late night.

Air rises bitter from the night.

Air of the dawning day! air of an autumn night.

Air of the night, air of your night.

The sky is a black blot.

The sand trembles like a tamed beast,

I feel a cold numbness in my chest.

The sand is soaked.

The eagles call.

None of the above

Is enkindled, which is a greater light.

Is the ray of faith, the living light.

The semblance had of flesh, and not of light.

A sliver of paradise, a ray of light.

The other turns blood into sand. the sun will not concede her light.

None of the above

I, who was in that part oppressed.

And the people who are oppressed.

Then, when the wretched men were oppressed.

And, in the last resort, the oppressor.

And, in the swathes of darkness oppressed.
